This Privacy Policy explains how Subbie collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Shorties mobile app

and related services (collectively, the "Service"), including Shorties for iOS, Shorties Mac, and Shorties Desk.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Shorties Is

Shorties is a creator studio app. Major tools like live remote monitoring and synced teleprompter/shotlist planner

make content creation easier.

You can record clips, edit projects, use AI-assisted tools (titles, scripts, voiceover, audio

enhancement), and optionally back up projects to iCloud.

The goal is to make the content creation process smooth

and easier.

Most of your content stays on your device unless you choose to use cloud backup, cloud AI features, or other online

functionality described below.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account — Apple user identifier, name, and email (when Apple provides them), collected through Sign in with

Apple.

Content you create — Videos, audio, thumbnails, scripts, captions, and project metadata, stored locally on your

device and optionally in your iCloud account.

Support communications — Email messages, bug reports, and diagnostics you choose to include, when you

contact us.

Information collected automatically

Usage analytics — Feature usage, onboarding answers, subscription events, library counts, and app version,

collected via PostHog.

Security and abuse signals — Screenshot and screen-recording events (with in-app screen context) and

cumulative counts and developer-account flags, collected via PostHog (see Section 5).

Crash diagnostics — Crash reports, device and OS information, and a hashed user identifier, collected via

Sentry.

Purchase status — Whether you have an active subscription or trial, from the Apple App Store. We do not

receive your payment card details.

AI-derived metadata

When you use AI features, we may generate and store metadata about your clips on your device, such as suggested

titles, summaries, and tags. Depending on the feature, this may be produced on-device or with the help of cloud

services (see Section 6).

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Device Permissions

Shorties may request the following device permissions to provide features:• Camera — Record video clips for your vlogs

Microphone — Record audio with clips and voiceovers

Photo Library (read) — Import videos into your projects

Photo Library (add) — Save clips to Photos when you choose to

Speech Recognition — Convert spoken script notes to text

Notifications — Recording reminders and app updates

Local Network — Connect to Shorties Desk on your Mac (Desk Shot) and to a second device in Director Mode

Alarms — Remind you to record clips at scheduled times

You can manage these permissions in your device Settings at any time. Some features will not work without the

relevant permission.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service

• Authenticate your account and manage subscriptions

• Power AI features (clip titling, scripts, voiceover, audio enhancement)

• Improve the Service through analytics and crash reporting

• Respond to support requests

• Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse — including suspected copying or misappropriation of

Shorties intellectual property

• Comply with legal obligations

5. Security and Abuse Monitoring

To protect Shorties and our users, we use product analytics (PostHog) to log certain security-relevant signals while

you are using the app:

• Screenshots — when iOS reports that a screenshot was taken while Shorties is in the foreground, including

which in-app screen or tab was visible

• Screen recordings — when iOS reports that screen capture started or stopped while Shorties is in use, with the

same screen context

• Cumulative counts — running totals of screenshot and screen-recording events associated with your account

• Developer or competitor account flags — whether your account matches an internal registry of flagged Apple

user identifiers or email domains we associate with suspected competitive misuse

What we do not collect through this system: We do not upload the screenshot image itself, the screen-recording

video, or content from other apps on your device. We only receive that the event occurred and which Shorties screen

was active.

Why we collect this: To detect and respond to unauthorized copying, cloning, or commercial exploitation of Shorties's

user interface, workflows, designs, and proprietary features. These signals may inform account review and

enforcement under our Terms of Service.

6. AI Features and Third-Party Processors

Some features send data to third-party services to function. API keys for cloud AI are stored on our servers and are

not embedded in the app. Requests are routed through an authenticated proxy tied to your Shorties account.

Cleanvoice — Audio enhancement (noise reduction, studio sound). Data sent: audio files you choose to

enhance.

OpenRouter / Google Gemini — Clip thumbnail analysis for library titles and descriptions, and script generation

and improvement. Data sent: JPEG thumbnails (resized), optional existing title text, and script text you submit.

Apple Intelligence — On-device clip title suggestions (where supported). Data sent: stays on your device.

Apple Vision — On-device fallback for clip labeling. Data sent: stays on your device.

Lemonfox — AI voiceover with built-in voices. Data sent: text you submit for synthesis.

ElevenLabs — Voice cloning (invite-only / limited availability). Data sent: voice audio samples you provide.

PostHog — Product analytics. Data sent: usage events and an account identifier, which may include your email

and name after sign-in.

Sentry — Crash reporting. Data sent: crash data and a hashed user identifier (email and IP address are not sent).

Apple iCloud / CloudKit — Optional project backup and sync. Data sent: your project packages, stored in your

iCloud account.

Apple App Store — Subscriptions and purchases. Data sent: handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

We select processors that we believe maintain appropriate security practices. Their use of your information is also

governed by their own privacy policies:

• Apple Privacy Policy

• PostHog Privacy Policy

• Sentry Privacy Policy

• Cleanvoice Privacy Policy

• OpenRouter Privacy Policy

• Google Privacy Policy (Gemini models via OpenRouter)

• ElevenLabs Privacy Policy

• Lemonfox Privacy PolicyWe do not use your videos, audio, or thumbnails to train public AI models. Cloud AI providers process your data to

deliver the requested feature and retain it according to their policies.

7. How We Store and Retain Information

On your device: Projects, clips, and related media remain on your device until you delete them or delete your account.

iCloud: If you use Shorties Cloud backup, your project data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's terms.

We do not have direct access to your iCloud credentials.

Our servers and processors: Cloud AI requests are processed to complete the feature you requested. Analytics and crash

data are retained according to our vendors' retention settings.

Account deletion: When you delete your account in Settings, we wipe local app data on your device, revoke your

proxy session, and reset your analytics identity. Analytics and crash records may persist with our vendors until their

retention periods expire. iCloud copies of your projects are not automatically deleted — you must manage those

through your Apple ID and iCloud settings.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Delete your account: Settings → Delete account. This removes local Shorties data from your device.

Revoke Sign in with Apple: → Shorties → Stop Using Apple ID.

You can stop Shorties from using your Apple ID via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple

Marketing emails: If we send promotional emails, you may unsubscribe using the link in the message.

California residents: You may have rights to know, access, delete, and opt out of certain processing under the California

Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact hello@subbie.world.

We may need to verify your identity before responding.

9. Children's Privacy

Shorties is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly

collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will

take steps to delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or

storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Users

Subbie is based in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred

to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our processors operate. Those countries may have

different data protection laws than your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

We will post the updated version at
